A red rose is not selfish because it wants to be a red rose. It would be horribly selfish if it wanted all the other flowers in the garden to be both red and roses.

"A red rose is not selfish because it wants to be a red rose. It would be horribly selfish if it wanted all the other flowers in the garden to be both red and roses." - Oscar Wilde

Care for oneself.

Love for oneself.

Compassion for oneself.

Honouring of oneself.

These are not acts of selfishness.

They are acts towards your self actualisation.

They are your responsibility.

Your obligation.

Your job as a human being.

Not to push your truths onto others.

But to honour your own truths.

Fully and completely.

To live your truth.

And to share your unique gifts with the world.

Honour yourself.

Honour your inner beauty.

Allow it to flourish.

In my latest blog post, "Love Thyself", I discuss the common vilification of 'being selfish', and how the negative connotations attached to the act of nurturing the self has been largely taken out of the appropriate context. If you're interested to hear my thoughts, read the blog post for more!

Strive to live, live to strive.
