"As always with virtue ethics, the focus is not on the outcome, but on the agent’s intentions." - Massimo Pigliucci
When we focus on outcome.
When it is our primary point of emphasis.
The complexities of life can play a heavy influence.
Your approach can easily be corrupted.
Consciously or unconsciously.
No matter how righteous your goals may be.
When they are not matched with an equally pure intention.
When the foundation of your approach is not from a place of authenticity.
The outcome can become more of a facade than a true reflection of your true expression.
Intention is everything.
Intention is foundation in determining your character.
Intention guides the nature of your actions.
Intention determines outcome.
Outcomes are always a reflection on the intention behind your action.
If they are not clear.
If they do not come from a place of purity.
If they are not fully committed to the cause.
Your outcome will always reflect as such.
In my latest blog post, "Focus on the Rainbow", I delve deeper into the paradoxical mindset of goal chasing, the widely-accepted lifestyle of running on the hedonic treadmill, and how a simple, but powerful, paradigm shift can change everything.
Strive to live, live to strive.
