"Ask yourself at every moment, 'is this necessary?'" - Marcus Aurelius
Wants versus needs.
The things you yearn for.
The things you so desire.
Are they truly things which you need?
Are they truly necessities for your life?
Do they truly add value to you life?
Or do they become a burden?
There is nothing wrong with having and wanting nice things.
But the there is an important discernment to be made.
That you fully aware and accepting of the burdens which come with your vices.
Or you are unaware and your vices have you as their slave.
With vice, comes great sacrifice.
Hard work.
Dedication.
Many years of fruitless venture.
Emotional attachment and burden.
It introduces complexities into an already complex life.
If you still want to continue the pursuit, this is fine.
But do so in acceptance and acknowledgement of what is required.
Otherwise, let it go, and release the needless addition of complexity in your life.
The less you want, the more you have.
Strive to live, live to strive.
