“Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.” - Oprah Winfrey
We are constantly chasing.
Chasing after the next 'big break'.
The "I'll be happy when..." mentality.
A promotion at work.
That sports car you've always wanted.
A new pair of shoes.
The purchase of your first home.
To finally meet 'the one.'
Getting married.
Having kids.
Raising a family.
We're always chasing the next milestone in our lives.
We chase to get that sense of momentary fulfilment when we finally reach the next milestone.
It feels great, but as it always does, it will fade.
Then we relive the same cycle.
We endure the periods between each milestone.
To get the little boost we need.
This is no way to live.
Instead, we should look internally.
We should reflect on what we are so fortunate to already have.
We should not take anything for granted.
We have our legs help us to walk and run.
We have our arms to assist us in a myriad of everyday activities.
We have our eyes to witness the beauty that the world has to offer.
We have our taste buds to experience the abundance of amazing cuisines in the world.
We have our health.
We are alive.
Express gratitude daily for the lives we're blessed to be able to experience.
Strive to live, live to strive.
