"Death smiles at us all, but all a man can do is smile back." - Marcus Aurelius
We know that it is coming.
We know that it is going to happen.
We know that it is inevitable.
Death does not discriminate.
Death does not pick and choose.
Death comes for all of us at some point.
In fact, the moment that we are born, the clock on our mortality begins to tick.
This is simply the unavoidable truth.
Death smiles at us all.
We have a choice.
We can run.
We can hide.
We can ignore.
We can suppress.
Or we can simply acknowledge.
We can recognise that death is not a bad thing.
We can embrace the fundamental concept for what it is.
We can simply smile back.
We can simply know that we will come face to face with death at some point.
And in the meantime, we live uninhibited by fear.
In the meantime, we truly live.
In my latest blog post, "Memento Mori", I discuss the concept of death, how it is somewhat of a taboo topic, and how viewing it differently, embracing it, can truly change not only our approach to life, but how we experience it as well. Read my post to see the full discussion.
Strive to live, live to strive.
