Happiness does not come from without, it comes from within.

"Happiness does not come from without, it comes from within." - Helen Keller

It is nice to be praised by others.

To be looked-up to.

To be admired.

To be revered.

To be told that you're doing a great job.

To feel loved by others.

These are all great, spirit-lifting moments in life.

But we should not rely on such moments to bring us happiness in life.

Our contentment with our own lives comes from within ourselves.

We choose to love or hate our current situations.

It's a matter of perspective.

It's a matter of inner-fortitude.

It's a matter of self-mastery.

If you're not feeling fulfilled within the life you live, you will seek acknowledgement externally.

If you are truly content with life, you will be happy.

External validation becomes a little something extra, or an empty compliment.

Either way, it won't matter.

In my latest blog post, "Find your Inner Fisherman", I share the powerful, perspective-shifting 'Parable of the Fisherman', and compare this view with the conventional societal road map which we're all very familiar with. Please read on for the full post!

Strive to live, live to strive.
