Happiness is not the belief that we don't need to change; it's the realisation that we can.

"Happiness is not the belief that we don't need to change; it's the realisation that we can." - Shawn Achor

True happiness does not lie in the arrival at any destination.

It is not reached by attainment of any status or possession.

It does not reside within a role, a person, or any material object.

You don't reach a goal which you've strived hard towards and suddenly become happy.

This is not the point where you can bask in everlasting happiness.

Rather, happiness is realising that life will always be in flux.

That it's not always going to be a smooth ride.

Happiness is in acceptance of these facts.

It is in knowing that you have complete control on whether you experience life in happiness or not.

Where your state of happiness and contentment is within your power, and yours alone.

That you always have a choice.

Happiness is not a destination we arrive at.

Happiness is a choice.

In my latest "Book Review #11", I review Shawn Achor's book 'The Happiness Advantage', as well as two other great titles. Check it out to read my full book reviews.

Strive to live, live to strive.
