"Suffering is due to our disconnection with the inner soul. Meditation is establishing that connection." - Amit Ray
We live in a fast-paced world.
Everything around us is happening so quickly.
Everything is about speed.
About efficiency.
About change.
About agility.
About power.
About politics.
About jostling for position.
About gaining the upper-hand.
About creating.
Most of us are naturally born and brought up in this environment.
We are born into this frantic chaos.
Into being very busy beings.
Our minds are occupied with thought.
Thoughts of the future.
Thoughts of the past.
Thoughts of the next immediate challenge, worry, task or event.
We are so occupied we forget to rest.
To take a step back.
We are so worried about making connections with others that we don't connect with ourselves.
We don't truly understand who we are.
We build a persona and play the part.
We think we're the banker.
The Lawyer.
The athlete.
The construction worker.
The business owner.
The parent of two.
That is not who we are.
They are just roles we've chosen to play.
Unfortunately, most of us are living a life of mistaken identity.
How often have you asked yourself what you truly desire in this life?
How often have you given yourself the time for introspection?
How often have you given yourself the space away from the noise of the world?
The only person who can give you this clarity is you.
The clarity to know the real you.
Your true self.
To realise a truly fulfilled life.
The life you were meant to live.
In my latest blog post, "Vipassana Meditation Retreat - A Firsthand Recollection", a good friend of mine recounts his own immersive meditation experience of self-discovery and inner-connection. Please read more for a detailed recollection of his journey.
Strive to live, live to strive.
