"The goal is not to be perfect by the end. The goal is to be better today." - Simon Sinek
It is great to have dreams.
It is great to have goals.
It is great to aspire toward an ideal state.
To break bad habits.
To shift undesirable behaviours.
To become a better version of yourself.
But we must idolise perfection.
We must not put it on a pedestal.
We must not believe that this is the be-all and end-all.
Goals prove an effective guide for us to reach the heights we seek.
They are not, however, the only outcome.
The outcome you want is to be better than you were yesterday.
If you are clear on what you want to achieve.
If you are focused and pointing in the right direction.
If you have identified the path and are putting one foot in front of the other.
Then, all you can expect from yourself is daily progress.
Work on improving one day at a time.
You may not reach perfection.
But you will definitely like where you end up, regardless.
Strive to live, live to strive.
