"The greatest medicine of all is teaching people how not to need it." - Hippocrates
Medicine has played a significant role in human history.
It has healed many diseases and saved countless lives.
It has improved the lives of many who battle crippling illnesses.
It has been one of the great achievements of humanity.
Sadly, much of this need for medicine could be avoided.
We live by the belief that our health is a gamble.
Something that is out of our hands.
And if we are given a bad hand, medicine will solve our ailment.
In some cases this is true.
However, we have more control over this outcome than we think.
Health isn't as simple as a lottery.
It isn't something we address when we've gained a few pounds.
When we notice that we're not feeling great.
When we get to the point where we seek medical advice.
Health is a lifestyle.
Illness and disease can be prevented, or at the very least, the chances of us developing them greatly reduced.
It is a choice.
We can choose to live a healthier life.
We can choose to decrease our risk of illness and disease.
We can choose to feel good every single day.
Choose always being healthy over reliance on medical intervention.
Choose lifestyle over seasonal, sporadic focus on health.
Choose prevention over symptomatic treatment.
Choose to live and move as you were born to.
Strive to live, live to strive.
