"The poet must not avert his eyes." - Werner Herzog
There is an adage that says that 'ignorance is bliss.'
Sure, you can find comfort in not knowing.
It can be seen as the 'easy way out.'
But it also narrows our view.
It limits the span of our perspective.
It puts a ceiling on the reach of our vision.
We see a filtered, censored interpretation of the world.
We, ourselves, become ignorant.
We voluntarily accept a partial-blindness.
We create a dualistic perspective of the world.
We apply subjective labels to things and circumstances.
Good and evil.
Positive and negative.
Right and wrong.
But in reality, these are all facts of life.
They are not just what life comprises.
Life cannot be defined by labels we assign.
Life is not 'good' or 'bad.'
Life just 'is.'
When we acknowledge this.
When we allow ourselves to accept all of life.
When we surrender to the complete truth.
We allow ourselves to see the truth.
To find our truth.
To speak our truth.
To fulfil our truth.
To express our truth.
To live life with eyes wide open.
Strive to live, live to strive.
