"The trick is to get our values right, so that the things we react strongly to are the ones that truly matter for a human being." - Margaret Graver
Values.
The foundation to each of us as individuals.
The underlying beliefs which make us act in the way we act.
Do the things that we do.
Say the things that we say.
They define our character.
They make us who we are.
Everyone's values are different.
We are all individuals.
We need not place meaning on things we do not truly value.
We don't need to be pressured to feel a certain way or do certain things.
Rather, things we truly value will speak to us.
They will resonate deep within us.
Provide real meaning and purpose to our lives.
Give each of us a good indication as to what we value most.
These are the things that provide us true liberation in life.
A greater freedom to be who we were meant to be.
If ever in doubt, do not look externally for answers.
Rather, reflect inwardly.
See my latest blog post, "Perceived Value", where I delve deeper into society's collective perception of value and how this does not necessarily have to, or need to, translate into our own personal views.
Strive to live, live to strive.
