"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." - Plato
To leave this life with unanswered questions.
To be left wondering 'what if...'
Let us be honest with ourselves.
Many of us have had a feeling that there may be more to life.
That we have more to offer.
That there must be more to life than this.
Getting good grades.
Studying in university.
Getting a high-paying job.
Entering the rat race.
Jostling for position.
Gathering as much resources as possible.
Retiring from the race, and enjoying the fruits of your labour.
We know, but sadly, we don't give it much more thought than this.
We are paralysed by fear.
How do we make money?
How do we feed the family?
How do we pay the mortgage?
I cannot give up my sense of security.
I'm too old to start over.
My family and friends will think I have gone mad.
I don't even know what I want to do.
I'm not good enough to pursue my dreams.
The self-defeating talk goes on.
But know that these are the choices we make.
We choose to live a life of conformity.
Or we can say to ourselves when our time is up, that we lived our lives our own way.
Strive to live, live to strive.
